BNOC and SMA-OC optical converters provide a convenient way to observe optical waveforms using any instrument equipped with BNC or SMA inputs. Optical signals can easily be injected into instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and high bandwidth amplifiers. Simply attach the BNC or SMA electrical connector to the instrument and connect the fiber end to the optical source. The high speed InGaAs photodiode packaged the BNC or SMA connector converts the incoming optical signal directly into an equivalent electrical signal. Using the Optical Converter’s connectorized fiber cable pigtail, it is especially easy to observe optical signals that are remote to the test instrument. The BNC and SMA-OC can be configured with any fiber optic connector at the fiber cable end.

The FD50DA, FD80DA, FD140DA series of High Speed Digital Arrays are designed for multichannel fiber applications based on standard 0.25 m pitch fiber ribbon. High speed, high bandwidth InGaAs photodiodes are monolithically integrated in rows of 1xn elements, with center-to-center spacing of 0.25 mm. Anode contacts are located on the chip's top surface, while the bottom surface provides the common cathode. The photosensitive areas are anti-reflection coated. Optical and electrical characteristics of each element are similar to those of discrete photodiodes in the FD50, FD80, or FD150 series. A ceramic fanout mounting block, capable of accommodating up to 16 elements, is available.
The FRL2003DS combines a MAXIM3864E/D preamplifier with a high speed InGaAs photodiode in a compact TO-46 package. The angle-polished single mode fiber pigtail provides a low back-reflection optical input. Designed for operation in the wavelength region 950 nm to 1650 nm.
